Even before Hurricane Sandy was in the Caribbean, organizers of the Throggs Neck Halloween Parade chose to move indoors. For years, the parade has been plagued with bad weather forcing it to be cancelled. This year organizers chose to have the costume event for kids at Villa Barrone Manor. Kids were given free hot dogs, popcorn, and other give-aways. Party-goers  had the chance to win an Amazon Kindle and prizes for the best dressed costumes in their age category. Assemblyman Michael Benedetto is the main organizer of the event with his fellow pols, Sen. Jeff Klein and Councilman James Vacca.
